We at Hot Cookie have been incredibly fortunate to have been able to remain open and serving customers over the last few months. But the pandemic has hit the Castro business community very hard and long-term businesses like KNOBS need help to make it through this tumultuous time. Just this week Hoodline reported the permanent closure of the 9th Castro neighborhood business – Nizario’s Pizza. Nizario’s had been in business for over 20 years and was a Castro St. staple. Lord knows I’ve eaten my share of late-night slices there after a fun-filled bar crawl.

San Francisco has long been viewed worldwide as the “gay mecca” and Castro Street has been the heart of the gay community for decades. There is no place quite like it and if our gayborhood is going to survive in this bizarre time we are living in, we have to do all we can to support our iconic gay businesses like KNOBS! So we hope that you will come out, stream their show online, and contribute to the effort to save KNOBS and help Keep Castro Queer!
