More and more people shop through AI assistants. If you build or run an AI agent that shops on behalf of a real person, you’re welcome on hotcookie.com. This page explains what agents may do here and what we ask in return.
What agents may do
- Browse our menu, product pages, store pages, hours and policies.
- Read and summarize our content, including for search and AI answers.
- Add items to a cart and place an order at checkout on behalf of a real customer who asked for it and approved the purchase.
- Use our product information to answer a shopper’s questions.
What agents may not do
- Sign in to, create, or change customer accounts, or use login links or codes sent to someone else. If the customer already has a Hot Cookie account, they need to log in themselves.
- Access admin, staff, or API pages.
- Place orders no one asked for, test stolen or made-up payment details, or resell our products.
- Collect personal information about other customers.
- Bypass our security checks, or send so many requests that the site slows down for everyone else.
Orders placed by an agent
An order placed by an agent is treated as the customer’s own order. The customer is responsible for its contents, the pickup, delivery or shipping details, and payment. Our Terms, Returns & Refunds and Pickup, Delivery & Shipping policies apply exactly as they would to an order placed in person. Many of our products are baked fresh for local pickup or delivery in San Francisco and Palm Springs, so please check the options shown at checkout before ordering.
Identify yourself
Please send a user-agent string that names your agent, and sign your requests if your platform supports it. Our site is protected by Cloudflare, and unidentified automated traffic may be challenged or blocked. That is a security measure, not a judgment about your agent.
Product feed
A product catalog for shopping platforms is available on request. If you’d rather use a feed than browse the site, contact us.
How this relates to our other terms
Our Terms of Service prohibit crawling and scraping in general. This page is the exception: agents acting within it, and crawlers following our robots.txt, have our permission. We may change this policy or block any agent that misuses the site.
